PE-22-28 background (research literature)
PE-22-28 is a 7-residue analogue derived from the spadin sequence (a 17-residue peptide cleaved from sortilin propeptide). Spadin and its truncated analogues have been studied in vitro for binding to TREK-1 (KCNK2), a two-pore-domain potassium channel of interest in neurochemistry research. Published work has examined receptor binding and downstream signaling in cell-line and ex-vivo neuronal preparations.
Sequence specificity
PE-22-28 is shipped as a sequence-verified peptide with HPLC purity and MS identity reporting. The short length and exposed N-terminal glutamine require attention to reconstitution buffer pH; labs typically buffer reconstituted material near neutral pH to suppress pyroglutamate formation in storage.
Storage and handling
Store lyophilized vials at -20 °C, sealed, away from light. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or a near-neutral lab buffer. Aliquot to single-use working volumes before freezing to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Documentation
CoA includes identity (MS), purity (HPLC), net peptide content. Batch records available against the SKU and lot for compliance review.

Storage and handling
Handle PE-22-28 as a lyophilized research reagent: cold, dry, light-protected storage; choose reconstitution buffer per your SOP; plan aliquots to limit freeze–thaw; and keep the lot CoA with the inventory record.
Research framing
Use PE-22-28 in published model-system terms only — receptor family, pathway context, assay controls, and concentration planning. Do not transfer assumptions from adjacent peptides without a documented comparison protocol. Research use only.
